Teaching from the OTO Courses app
The OTO Courses app for iPhone and Android has a teaching section. Sign in with the same teaching account you use on the website: the app opens your teaching pages by itself.
What you can do in the app
- Today: today's classes, the next ones, any reports that are due, the availability window and your points this month.
- Join a class: open the class and press Open the class. The button appears 10 minutes before the start. Allow the camera and microphone when your phone asks. Every class is recorded.
- Write the report: after a class, open it and press Write the report: a summary of what you covered (10 characters or more), the homework and notes. The learner sees all three once you submit. A report is due 24 hours after the class ends; a late one is kept and marked late.
- Availability: your weekly hours now and, once submitted, from next month. Between the 15th and the 20th, press Set my hours, choose each day and tap the hours a class may start, then Submit my hours. Your hours must still meet your contract. You can also add and remove days off; a day off that has a booked class is refused.
- Points and pay: this month's points and classes, the projected pay at your current rates, your rank, and your pay slips once a month's payroll is approved.
Done on the website
- Cancelling a class: it needs a reason and follows the cancellation rules, so it is done from your teaching page on otocourses.app.
- Editing your public profile, your class notes, slides and the class chat.
Trouble with the app
- "This account is not active" or the app sends you to the website: the app is for learner and teacher accounts. If you also work as staff, that is a separate account and uses the website.
