Teaching at OTO: your instructor terms

The Instructor Platform Terms set the rules for teaching on OTOCourses.app: availability, sessions, the classroom, recordings, reports, points and payroll. Read them on the Instructor terms page: otocourses.app/en/legal/instructor-terms

Your contract and these terms

Your signed contract with OTO governs your employment type, rates and other employment matters. Where the two differ, your contract prevails, except for how the platform works (availability, booking, sessions, the classroom, recordings, reports and points), where the instructor terms prevail.

Accepting the terms

You accept the terms when you first sign in as an instructor.
When OTO publishes a new version, you're told by email and on the platform at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you accept it before you carry on teaching.
If you taught for OTO before OTOCourses.app and your account was moved here, you keep teaching as usual and are never blocked. Your dashboard reminds you to read and accept the terms on your account page.

Becoming active (new teachers)

A new instructor account is activated once all of these are done:

the instructor terms are accepted;
for non-native speakers, the OTO English Assessment at C1 overall or above;
your ID document approved by HR (an approval lasts 365 days);
the academy training (7 modules) and the safety training (3 modules).

In class

Keep your camera on.
Sessions are in English only, except DEPI group sessions. Any change to this rule applies only once a new version of the instructor terms is published.
Communicate with students through the platform only: no personal contact details and no private lessons outside it.
