Deleting your account

You can delete your OTO Courses account yourself, on the website or in the app. Once it is done, it cannot be undone.

How to delete your account

1. Open Account (on the website, your account settings; in the app, the Account tab) and press Delete my account. 2. Read what is deleted, what is kept and what you lose. 3. Press Send the code. We send a 6-digit code on WhatsApp to the number you confirmed, or by email if you have not confirmed a number. 4. Type the code and the word shown (DELETE, or «حذف» in Arabic), then press Delete my account.

What happens next

• You are signed out on every device straight away, and your upcoming classes are cancelled. A class less than 8 hours away counts as used, as for any late cancel.
• Your account is deleted 30 days later. We email you when you confirm and when it is done.
• Until then you can change your mind: sign in again, open Account and press Cancel the deletion. Cancelled classes are not restored.

What is deleted

Your name, email address, phone number, password and sign-in links (Google, Apple, Facebook, WhatsApp), your profile and photo, your community profile, your learning history (reading, words, games, streaks and badges), your messages in class chats, your comments, your notification settings, and the link between your account and our sales records. We also stop sending offers to your number.

What we keep

Only what the law or our Privacy Policy requires, without your name:

• payment records, receipts and refunds, for 5 years (tax law);
• the record of the terms you accepted, and the log of staff actions;
• your past classes, as your teachers' pay records;
• support conversations that a support ticket still depends on.

Class recordings are deleted 90 days after the class, as always.

Hours you have not used

Unused hours in your packages are lost when your account is deleted and are not refunded. If you want a refund of unused hours under the Refund Policy, ask for it before you delete your account. While a refund request is open, the deletion waits until it is decided.

Parents

Deleting a parent account also deletes the account of each child who has no other parent or guardian on OTO Courses. A child who has another parent or guardian stays with them.

Teachers and staff

Teaching accounts are not deleted from Account, because of contracts and pay records: Delete my account sends a request to HR, who contact you within 30 days. Staff and company accounts send a request in the same way.
