Giving your teenager their own sign-in
If your child is 13 to 15 (by the year of birth you gave), you can give them a sign-in of their own, so they can open their classes, messages and progress themselves. You stay responsible for the account.
How to give it
- Open your family page and find your child's card.
- Open the section with your child's name and own sign-in, type your child's email address and select Give … their own sign-in.
- We email your child a link to choose a password. The link works once and expires in 7 days. Until they use it, you can select Send the invitation again.
The email must not be used by another OTO account. It is used only to sign in and for class notices, never for offers. If your child has no year of birth on their card, add it first.
What stays with you
- Buying: only you buy packages for your child, from your family account. Your child can't buy anything.
- Consents: only you give or withdraw them (for example, transcripts of classes). Your child sees them but can't change them.
- Messages: you can still act for your child, read their conversations with teachers and write in them (your messages are marked parent). Your child is told this in the app.
- Emails: every email about your child still comes to you. Once your child has chosen a password, they get a copy of the messages about their classes, reports and conversations with teachers.
Everything else for children stays the same: no community profile, no comments, no games score lists, no AI feedback and no offers.
Turning it off
Select Turn off their sign-in on your child's card at any time. Your child is signed out on every device, and you act for them as before. You can give a sign-in again later.
At 16, your child's record moves to an account of their own, as the Family Account and Kids Terms say.
