The free placement test

A free adaptive test of about 25 minutes that gives you your OTO level and recommends a course.

What's in it

Five short parts: grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and one speaking task. Questions get easier or harder as you answer. At the end you see your OTO level (A1.1 to C2), how confident the result is, and the course that fits it.

Before you start

• Sign in first. You don't need to confirm your email to take the test.
• Use Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on an Android phone.
• The listening part needs sound, and the speaking part needs a microphone. If you can't record, you can skip speaking; your level will be a little less precise.
• Answer on your own, without a dictionary. If you don't know, choose I don't know: a guess makes your level less accurate.

Taking it again

You can retake the test 14 days after your last one, and start it at most 3 times a day. A test you abandon (left idle for 60 minutes) doesn't start the 14-day wait.
